We know life gets busy. Now overdue fines won’t get in the way of your access to the Pratt Library. Bring back Pratt-owned materials and overdue fines will be waived.

A Beautiful Afternoon at the 90th Annual MayMart Celebration

On Saturday May 12, Roland Park Elementary/Middle School hosted its 90th Annual MayMart Celebration. The sunny weather was perfect for the event that included bounce houses, carnival games, good food, and great performances from student musical and dance groups.

Teen Librarian Alex Lawson talked about Pratt Library’s upcoming programs and signed people up for library cards at the event. Information about Summer Challenge (for all ages, starting June 13th!) was popular with parents who want to help their children avoid the summer slide. Adults were interested to hear about the Roland Park Branch’s summer film series, and a lot of students were excited to see their librarian at school on a Saturday.

In addition to all of that, eight people left MayMart with new library cards. Do you have a library card? If you don’t, that’s okay! You can start the process online or sign up at one of the 22 Pratt Library locations.

Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month Guide 4

Happy Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month! Over the next few weeks we will be posting about texts you can check out from the Humanities and Fine Arts Departments at Central Library. For more information about the month please click here.

Celebrate Asian and Pacific Islanders this month by learning about their contributions to music, visual arts, and fashion. Within the guide you will find some authors who are Asian-Canadian. We decided to expand to include such authors because there are so many countries and cultures included within the term “Asian,” and Canada and the US are both part of North America. Check out the poetry titles here, theatre and comedy titles here, and comics and graphic novels here.
